Who We Are
Our History
There are many reasons to hire a professional. However, in today’s economy spending that extra money just doesn’t seem worth it. Just like hiring your photographer, or deciding on who makes your cake, you want someone who has the experience, skill, proper equipment, musical knowledge, and the professionalism, for the most important day of your life. If you want the professional experience, without spending that extra money, you’ve come to the right place!
Experience: Experience is more than just having been to many weddings, its knowing the ins and outs of all the sound and lighting equipment, to get the best sound from the speakers, and the best look from the lights. It’s knowing how to read a crowd, and to keep the party going, picking the right song to play next, and being tactful with guests and taking care of the needs of the bridal party. We look after everything, timing of events throughout the night, involving your guests (interactive dances) and allow you to just relax and enjoy the party you spent time planning.
Skill: Knowing what works and what doesn’t work, and when to mix a track, or just let it play. Some songs, and genres deserve to be heard in their entirety, and people expect it. Below are some mixing samples, to give you an idea of the music you might hear, the extent of the music database available, and mixing.
Equipment: Our computer based system is very high tech, but even the most high tech equipment can have its moments, which is why we always bring a back-up system just in case. High quality speakers and microphones make a huge difference, and we use only the best. Properly balancing all the levels so that your guests hear every word of your speech, and are not blown away by music that’s too loud, or distorted.
Music and Musical Knowledge: Yes, we do have over 30000 songs to choose from (everything from the 1950s, to the newest stuff on the radio), but on the average night (5 hours), a typical DJ will only play about 75 (roughly 15 per hour). So what 75? Along with your personal requests and the requests made by your guests (YES we take requests, and do our best to fit them all in), we carefully pick songs that fit with those requests. We don’t play what we want to hear, we play the music you and your guests want to hear!
Professionalism: There are several things that define a professional DJ:
Attire appropriate to the event (Example: Weddings – dress shirt/pants and tie, Stag(Buck) & Doe – semi formal).
Pre-planning, and following your event planner for the evening (adhering to the must play/do not play list)
Setting up early, long before guests arrive and ensuring all equipment is working properly and all the planned music is ready.
Greeting you and your bridal party upon arrival, verifying names and order for the introductions, and being ready to go when you are.
